Cooling Assistance Now Added=
to
the Heating Assistance Program

is on the way for the elderly and those in need, thanks to Dominion Virginia
Power and its EnergyShare assistance program.
For t=
he first
time, EnergyShare is now a year-round program, not only providing assistance
with energy bills during the winter but also helping eligible individuals w=
ith
their electricity bills during the summer. Fan Care, now also part of
EnergyShare, provides fans to eligible customers.
So, yes, depending on your income or special circumstance=
s, you
can receive cooling assistance through EnergyShare. Applications are taken in Prince W=
illiam
through ACTS and =
SERVE.
EnergyShare’ FanCare program is available June thro=
ugh
October and EnergyShare Heating will be available November through May. All qualifications are the same wi=
th the
exception of those noted for seniors.
General Qualifications:
Must have a disconnection to apply
Must have exhausted all other resources/programs/methods
before applying
Must be income eligible
One time maximum assistance payment up to $300
Qualification for seniors:
No disconnection notice is necessary to apply
Can receive assistance twice per heating/cooling season
Maximum assistance not to exceed $500
