Each year the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to outstanding seniors who have demonstrated commitment to learning, involvement in the community and solid career goals.
The Scholarship is unique in that it is specifically for students who choose to attend a two-year college or vocational school.
The program began in 1987, with a single scholarship of $500. The Chamber has steadily worked to increase the amount of students that it reaches, as well as to grow the award to match current tuition rates. In 2008, the Chamber awarded 10 students with $1,300 each. Since 2000, the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce has awarded $71,000 in scholarships to 68 students.
Often, this award is a determining factor in the decision to continue on to higher education. The members of the Region’s Chamber are proud to assist area students in achieving their educational dreams.
