NVTA Ruling & The Fate of Transportation Funding

PUBLIC POLICY

By now, everybody has heard the news:  the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the levying of taxes by non-elected bodies, such as the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, to be unconstitutional, thus immobilizing a crucial piece of HB 3202, the first major transportation funding bill passed by the Virginia legislature in 20 years.  The Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce will continue to urge our legislators to work together to solve the acute transportation needs of the Northern Virginia region, and to keep our members connected to the latest news on this important issue.  Please check this page regularly for updates, and let your representatives know that Prince William considers transportation solutions a legislative priority.
