Public Policy Committee Business Plan
The Public Policy Committee promotes a healthy business environment in Prince William through comprehensive and effective programs. Members develop relationships with legislators at all levels of government. They also monitor proposed laws and regulations, and keep Chamber membership aware of issues that have the potential to effect how they do business.
Among the top public policy priorities of the Region’s Chamber at the local level are:
- Streamlining the permitting process
- Reducing BPOL taxes
- Improving roads and schools
At the state level, the Region’s Chamber advocates fiscal accountability and a higher priority for transportation and education funding. Nationally, Chamber members advocate for such business needs as affordable health care.
Want to become more involved in public policy, or just be better informed about legislation that affects your business? Contact your Region's Chamber for more information on its Public Policy activities. This committee meets the third Friday of each month at 8:00 am at the Chamber offices.
